Congratulations to India Hale, Maddy Almand, Lizzy Morris, Brooklyn Brawley, and Ca’ron Horton for being nominated by their teachers for showing empathy to their classmates. From welcoming students into their group in Algebra to supporting a classmate during group work in World History to making students feel welcome at lunch, these students showed they know how to walk a mile in another person’s shoes!
Happy Friday!

On Friday, art students had the opportunity to enhance their skills during RTI by participating in an enrichment activity. Under the guidance of Art teacher, Candace Eriksson, they took their sketchbooks outside to practice drawing on location, immersing themselves in real-world inspiration.

We encourage the community to make it out to the fair this week and view the student work. Congratulations students on all your accomplishments!

Mrs. Greenwich’s Algebra I classes wrapped up last week with Friday Fun. Some of her classes created wacky mad libs as they put their skills of evaluating expressions and combining like terms to use!

This year, Mr. Logan Way's Biology students have already explored the fascinating properties of water, including its cohesion and adhesion, by testing how many drops of water a penny could hold. They didn’t stop there—they also experimented with adding oil and soap to see how these changes affected the behavior of the water drops on the penny. It was an engaging way to discover how different substances influenced water's properties.

Mrs. Magen Atkinson's Algebra II students were challenged during class last week to see how many students they could fit through a single piece of paper. They had to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to conquer the challenge. One class was able to fit 20 people through one piece of paper! Definitely creativity involved also!

AHS Students spent time in advisory groups this week during RTI time. Team building was happening in Mrs. Sarah Brawley’s session when students had the task of creating the tallest tower using only paper and tape. They certainly rose to the challenge!

We look forward to seeing all of our students on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024. School begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m.
Car riders and AHS student drivers please review the information in the traffic flow map attached. It is important to navigate your vehicle during drop-off and pick-up according to the map due to buses arriving and leaving from the two campuses and the bus shop; as well as Goza Middle School traffic that adds 5th-grade car riders to the traffic flow this year. We appreciate your patience. The safety of our students is our top priority.
We are looking forward to a great year!
