Arkadelphia Public Schools will be open tomorrow, January 24, 2024; however, we do have some flooded areas that are not safe for our buses. Our buses will not drive through high water.
If your child rides Route 14 with Mr. Hughes, our bus will not be able to provide transportation to and from school tomorrow, Wednesday, January 24, 2024. There may be some areas on other routes that are also impacted. If you cannot safely get your child to and from school, please call the school office or send a note when your child returns and they will be allowed to make up all missed work without a penalty. Safety is our top priority and we appreciate your understanding.

Out of an abundance of caution, with precipitation and temps hovering around freezing for the next few hours, Arkadelphia Public Schools will be closed today. We do not want to put our staff and students on the road with the potential of worsening conditions.

Dear Badger Family,
We are hoping to be able to return to school tomorrow; however, with the forecasted freezing rain, we will be monitoring the weather closely tonight and in the early morning hours. A decision will be made by 5:30 a.m. and communicated on our website and Facebook page. Phone calls/text alerts will be initiated at 6:00 a.m.
Hopefully, we will not get the icy conditions and can get our Badgers back on campus! If we are not so lucky, stay safe!

Arkadelphia Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19th out of precaution due to inclement weather and road conditions. Once again, thank you for your patience as decisions are made regarding school closure.

Because of the deterioration of weather and road conditions this morning, Arkadelphia Public Schools will be closed today, Thursday, January 18, and utilize a snow day. Please stay safe!

The Arkadelphia School District will resume school tomorrow, Thursday, January 18th. Thank you for your patience as we evaluated road conditions this afternoon. The warmer temperatures and sunshine today have helped clear our roads for buses to run their routes in the morning. We look forward to seeing our Badgers back on campus!

Arkadelphia Public Schools will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17, due to road conditions. While the highways and main roads have improved, there are still many side streets and rural roads that have not thawed. Anything on the roads will refreeze tonight, making travel dangerous. Continue to stay safe and warm!

Due to the inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, Tuesday, January 16 will be a snow day for the Arkadelphia Public School District. All campuses and district buildings will be closed tomorrow. All after-school activities are canceled for Tuesday. Stay safe and warm!

It's National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day!
Students and staff, get those festive, unique, and not-so-cute sweaters ready to wear today. Be watching for the social media posts later this morning to help select our winning campus.
Have a great Friday!

Dr. Jeff Root was recognized at Tuesday’s Arkadelphia Board of Education meeting for his 16 years representing Zone 4 on our school board. Dr. Root joined the board of his high school alma mater in 2007. Though Dr. Root has resigned from his Zone 4 position, do not worry, you will still hear him on the Friday night Badger Football broadcast this fall!
Thank you Dr. Root for your dedicated service to the Arkadelphia Public School District. We appreciate your support for our students and staff over the past 16 years.
