Jostens, the leading producer of yearbooks and student-created content, recently announced that Arkadelphia High School’s Yearbook Program has been named a Jostens' 2020 National Yearbook Program of Excellence. The National Yearbook Program of Excellence recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, and information and communication technologies (ICT) literacy. The AHS award winning yearbook program was led by September Mosley (Editor) and Jhene Utley (Assistant Editor), under the direction of Mary Standley, AHS Yearbook Advisor.
“I am so honored to have received this award for our school. We worked very hard in trying times, especially after COVID shut down the school in March. We are working very hard again this year on the yearbook, and I think everyone will be impressed with the new interactive capabilities that the yearbook will have,” said Mary Standley, AHS Yearbook Advisor.
Jostens’ National Yearbook Program of Excellence Awards are presented twice a year, in the spring and in the fall based on the yearbook’s arrival date at the school. The award was presented to the Arkadelphia High School Yearbook Program for achieving the defined criteria in each of three following categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.
The award came with a plaque and a banner which is displayed outside the school office.
